Removing Tea Stains from Teeth

March 3rd, 2008 by tmikuckis

clean white teeth smileAs we all know tea has tons of health benefits and good things about it, but what some people sometimes overlook, is that it can stain or change the color of your teeth. So for those of us who drink more than two cups of tea a day, our pearly whites can start to look not too white, and we can develop a yellow tint to our teeth. I believe that black and green tea are the worst for staining teeth, and white tea probably has little or no effect on tooth color.

So you may be wondering how to avoid the yellow teeth and remove tea stains from your teeth. There are a few ways you can do this. One extreme option is to just cut down on the amount of tea you drink (once again, this is a pretty extreme option, and not one that I will be using!). Another thing you can do is drink more white tea, opposed to green and black. The third option would be to drink your tea from a straw.

However, none of the previous options really appeal to me too much. But, one thing that I have found best for removing tea stains from teeth, (without having to change my tea drinking habbits) is one very powerful whitening toothpaste. I believe that the Coffee Drinker’s Tooth Paste(I am not an affiliate of this website) is the best whitening toothpaste you will find for removing tea stains. Or, the last option is to just not worry too much about the color of your teeth!

Drinking through a straw helps prevent stains from happening in the first place. But its always kindof annoying to do that.
I also just try to use strong whitening tooth paste to remove tea stains from my teeth

yes, I also usually just use whitening toothpaste to remove the tea stains from my teeth. Its seems to me like tea may stain teeth almost as much as coffee, but I guess I have no real proof of what stains more.

Whitening tooth paste does seem to help for the preventing tea stains. I am not sure whether tea or coffee stains teeth more…but I guess I will always drink tea anyways, so it doesn’t really matter.

Drinking tea every day really started to stain my teeth. So to prevent the tea stains I now drink my tea out of a straw. Sounds kinda weird, but what the heck. It doesn’t bother me too much. As long as the teeth stay nice and white :)

For effectively removing stains from teeth I actually use the crest whitening strips. I have heard that green tea actually helps promote healthy strong teeth, but considering I drink green tea every day, my teeth sometimes can get a bit yellow shaded from the tea. The whitestrips and coffee drinker’s whitening toothpaste really help though.

I really think that someone should invent a special ” tea drinker’s tooth paste” . I know I would buy it, yellowish teeth can sometimes get annoying.

“Tea Drinker’s Toothpaste”, That is something I would definately make sure to buy :)

Yellow teeth is probably the only bad effect of tea. It really takes some time to remove the yellow tea stains from your teeth.

I have also heard how drinking through a straw can help prevent yellow tee stains on teeth. But I hate drinking through a straw, becaus the flavor of the tea is much different.

yes, drinking through a straw to remove the tea stains really isn’t worth it.

I really don’t know of anyone who uses a straw to remove the yellow tea stains from teeth, I think most people try to remove the stains with whitening toothpaste strips etc.

I am happy that I am a white tea drinker, because white tea has never stained my teeth:)

I dont drink tea everyday but i have the occasional cup of tea about 4 times a week at most, it is white tea i drink. im looking to whiten my teeth so ive cut down on tea and coffee. i had braces when i was 14-15 and my teeth were really white, i mean whiter than ever. i dont smoke but i have done for atleast a year and stopped and now my teeth have a yellow colour to them its not really bad but they look shiney gold. im using blanx whitener with the blanx mouthwash it is really good toothpaste and mouthwash, it costs about the £15 for the set but after 12 hours or so my teeth dont look as shiny or white so im wondering if you have any ideas for me as i dont have the money for veneers or bleaching. my mum tells me over the counter bleaches are risky cause of the mouth sensitivity and so on. i want to know the best whitening toothpaste and if mine is any good!!??

thanx for the help but you need to put in there what ingredient stains the teeth

I have mildly stained teeth from excessive tea drinking. I think its a fair trade off for the protection that the tea brings your teeth ( tea has fluoride in it). In some parts of Tibet I have seen people with fluorosis from drinking so much Pur’yeh.

certainly like your website but you need to check the spelling on quite a few of your posts. Many of them are rife with spelling issues and I find it very bothersome to tell the truth nevertheless I’ll surely come back again.

Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this site. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very difficult to get that “perfect balance” between user friendliness and visual appeal. I must say you’ve done a very good job with this. In addition, the blog loads extremely quick for me on Firefox. Exceptional Blog!

  • Hi! I simply wish to offer you a big thumbs up for your excellent information

The text in your article seem to be running off the screen in Ie.

I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with web browser compatibility but I thought I’d post to let
