Brief History; Coffee vs. Tea in the USA

March 9th, 2008 by tmikuckis

Why coffee and not tea? Most people in the United States drink coffee and not tea. This must seem strange to many people, considering how much better tea tastes than coffee! (not to mention all the great health benefits of tea).Surprisingly enough, at one time tea was actually very popular in the US. Well, not actually the US, but in what was the thirteen colonies. However, after the Boston Tea Party and America’s independence, the United States disassociated its self with all things British (like tea), and tea drinking went out of style. Most people started to take up drinking coffee, and this is why coffee is still so much more popular than tea in the United States.
