Book Review: The Story of Tea

March 5th, 2008 by tmikuckis

a stack of ordinary booksThe Story of Tea, by Mary Lou Heiss Robert J. Heiss, is filled with 417 pages of tea information. It includes the basic and cultural history of tea, how tea is processed, where tea is grown, and the consumption and production of tea over time, and some great tea recipes.

My review

This book is the only tea book you will ever need, and it is definately the best of the few tea books available. It is a sturdy hardcover book that is very appealing to look at, and actually could make for an interesting gift. One of my favorite parts of this book is all the pictures. The pictures in this book are exquisitely done and are actually very fun to look at. Although the book is 417 pages long, it does not seem at all like some sort of boring encyclopedia, and is actually very interesting to read. This book was written by two owners of a tea shop, and they actually know what they are talking about.

This book is essential for the collection of any true tea lover. And if you don’t trust what I’m saying just take a look at the  4.5 star review at amazon.Book Review: The Story of Tea This book claims to just be  The Story of Tea, but it is truly so much more.

I look forward to purchasing this book. Tea does have a really interesting history, because it has been around for so long.
